Urban Decay

Varis Gallery is pleased to present Urban Decay: An Analog Elegy, a photographic exhibition featuring the work of Thomas Diaz and Kevin Denton. This exhibition brings together a compelling body of images captured entirely on film, embracing the tactile richness and authenticity of analog photography.

Through their distinct yet harmonious perspectives, Diaz and Denton explore the quiet poetry of urban environments shaped by time, neglect, and transformation. Crumbling facades, weathered surfaces, and forgotten spaces become sites of reflection—revealing beauty within decay and narratives embedded in the built landscape.

Rooted in process and materiality, the use of film lends each image a sense of intimacy and permanence, inviting viewers to slow down and engage more deeply. Urban Decay: An Analog Elegy is both a meditation on impermanence and a tribute to the enduring spirit of place.
